Before being a CEO, I’m a husband, father, and son. I grew up knowing the value of hard work, with my father being a small business owner and my mother having immigrated to the US. I have personally experienced the ability that America offers to anyone to realize their dreams. We’re at a crucial time in our country’s history — a moment for change and building a better future for our children.
On a recent trip to VSCO’s NYC office, I visited Ellis Island and saw my great-grandparents’ names. It reminded me that we really do live in the land of opportunity, and that the impact immigrants have had on the fabric of this country cannot be overstated.
I also visited Hillary’s campaign office and met the brilliant people who are dedicated not just to a candidate, but a cause. This incredibly diverse group, led by strong women, is a compelling picture of America today. I want my own daughters to know that they can grow up in a country that allows them to be anything they dream of.
We built VSCO to be a community that stands apart for its freedom of expression and diversity of opinion. Each of us has a perspective to contribute, and each of us has a voice to share. We celebrate the differences in our humanity — all the diverging viewpoints and passions that make us who we are as global citizens. We strive to include, to accept, and to build one another up, not break each other down or perpetuate discriminatory ideals.
For these reasons, I am choosing to support Hillary Clinton. I’m confident she is the best candidate and will positively shape the country that my daughters will grow up in.
I’m with her.
